Indian bowlers have never left their fans unhappy with their bowling spell just like Siraj did against Sri Lanka in the recent Asia Cup finals. Lankan boys won the toss and opted to bat first and started the game with high spirit which was damaged by Mohammed Siraj.
Yes Mohammed Siraj with his magic spells rattling down the spirit of Dasun Shanaka’s team by picking 4 wickets in an over. And in wholesome picking 6 wickets in the innings he took away the game, where the team was able to score only 50 runs overall.
Siraj’s 21/6 with 15 balls and this spell had worked out well for our team India’s winning streak. This is not the very first time where Indian bowlers went wild over opposition. Take a look at few more bowlers who had created a history in ODI cricket with their powerful spells previously.
1. Stuart Binny –
It was somewhere in the midst of 2014, where maybe he was not known for his greater records by that time. But that magical spelling against Bangladesh fetched him everything he dreamt of in his cricket career.
His spells gave him 6 wickets and four runs to opponents. Team India was just defending 105 runs against Bangladesh and Binny stole the show and etched his name in the history of Indian cricket.
2. Anil Kumble –
Kumble was one of the most successful bowler Indian team had seen in past, by remaining as the fourth highest wicket taker of all time in tests.
He also had once created a history with his spells in ODI cricket against the Caribbean horses, i mean West Indies. In 1993, Hero cup finals Anil Kumble was the talk of the game with his magical bowling who destroyed the West Indies team batting line up.
Anil Kumble created a record by taking 6 wickets by just giving 12 runs, which stood unbeaten for two decades in Indian cricket history. India which was playing at Eden Gardens had to defend 225 runs against Caribbean’s and Anil Kumble was the one stole the game and stood the star player of the match.
It was then the best ever bowling record created by the Indian bowlers in ODI cricket history.
3. Jasprit Bumrah –
I remember Bumrah just for his unique way of pacing the ball. But later when i saw the history it really made me go stun for a moment after seeing his innings against England.
Bumrah regardless of the format he played in game of cricket he had always left his prints which inspires lots of youngsters. In 2022 against England he swept away the team’s top and bottom order by taking 6 wickets all alone and by just giving 19 runs overall.
His classic 6 wickets innings fetched him Man of the Match award.
4. Ashish Nehra –
It really needs an immense skill sets for one to create history just like Nehra has done both in International and Indian Cricket. One such wild innings which happened in Durban against England in the ODI cricket history.
It was in 2003, India was facing England and England wanted to chase down the target of 251 runs in an ODI cricket. It was a group game against India and England, in where Ashish Nehra showered his magical spells which shattered out the England team.
Ashish Nehra’s 23/6 spell made India win the match with the margin of 82 runs and it also fetched him Man of the Match award.
