Being in the nation of 130+ crore population representing the nation in sport is a tough task. The one who gets the chance will remain in the history pages, despite the success or failure.
Even though Cricket is not India’s national game, we can see at least one group in each colony playing gully cricket. Yes, cricket has went deep down, where even a kid without the knowledge of sport as for cricket bat.
The ICC ODI World Cup is the huge stage in cricket sport, where few players gets chance to enter here. In this biggest tournament only 15 gets chance to represent the nation in the team squad.
In the history of ICC ODI World cup there are two golden moments for every Indian to cherish. India has lifted the trophy way back once in 1983 and recently in 2011 editions. Australia remains the team to win the most number of tiles by winning 5 times since 1975.
In the journey of 2011 world cup in team India, a lot of all players heard a shocking notice. Many players were dropped down from the world Cup squad, and were not part of winning team. Players such like, Rohit Sharma, Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja were dropped by the selection panel.
Let’s take a look at the legends players who never played ODI world cup with team India.

1. Ishant Sharma –
I somehow managed to steal his height, but his skills, nah I couldn’t even imitate it at least.
One of the tallest cricketers ever to come out of India during the 2011 World Cup, Ishant Sharma was a member of the Indian team’s ODI squad. Even though he has played in numerous ODI series before to the major tournament, the BCCI chose Sreesanth instead of him.
The fast bowler, who was born in Delhi, is still troubled by the disappointment of being left off the 2011 World Cup winning team.

2. VVS Laxman –
I still remember the craze this man used to get to his game. One of my Dad friend was his fan, fan to level where he named his son Laxman getting inspired from VVS.
VVS Laxman, one of cricket’s greatest wristy geniuses, was shockingly unsuccessful as a white ball batter. VVS played 86 ODIs for the Indian national squad, although he was not even once a part of the championship game. It really disheartens to the cricket fans seeing him not playing any world cup.

3. Amit Mishra –
The man whom we saw shattering the opponents in the T20 and ODI couldn’t play world cup. Yes it’s true, the star players of IPL who played for more than four IPL teams never made into the world cup with team India.
Amit Mishra, a seasoned leg spinner, has participated across multiple IPL matches but, regrettably, has not had much success wearing the national jersey. In his career, he has participated in 35 ODIs, but not a single World Cup.

4. Irfan Pathan –
Whenever I hear Irfan Pathan name, I remember my father’s saying, just see how he take the wicket now.
The gifted all-rounder from Vadodara excelled at swing deliveries with the fresh ball and was an impressive batter, especially during that final delivery. It’s unfortunate that Irfan didn’t have the chance to participate in the ODI World Cup even once after playing 120 One-Day Internationals.
It’s really hard to see such a star all-rounder not making into world cup team at least once. But still as a 90’s kids many won’t forget his contribution to the team India.

5. RP Singh –
Today’s kids remember Virat as an aggressive player in the team. But way back then RP Singh was noted for his aggressive presence on the field and also as a complete player by his teammates.
RP Singh, a swing specialist who excelled with the new ball in the 2007 T20 World Cup, hasn’t competed in any ODI World Cups. His best years were around the time of the 2007 ODI World Cup, but the selectors passed him over.
